Headline: Michael Haglof and Steven Ferraro Share Medalist Honors at Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Qualifier Held at Gardner Municipal Golf Course

Gardner, MA — Qualifiers for the 36th playing of the Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship continued on Wednesday as an additional 19 golfers earned their respective spots in the Championship Proper at a qualifier held at Gardner Municipal Golf Course.
The 19 competitors join the group of 17 players who advanced from Sandy Burr Country Club yesterday and will compete in the Championship Proper taking place on the Nicklaus Course of Pinehills Golf Course in Plymouth on August 8-9.
Wednesday’s medalist honors were shared by two competitors, Michael Haglof (Cyprian Keyes GC) and Steven Ferraro (Blackstone GC), who each carded scores of even-par 71. Qualifying scores ranged from even par 71 to 5-over par 76.
In addition to the 19 competitors who qualified, an additional four competitors who finished with scores of 6-over par 77, or one stroke above the last qualifying number, will be listed as alternates and will be placed on the alternate list per the alternate policy that is available on the MGA Policies and Procedures Page.
The Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship is the only MGA Championship Proper that annually accepts the entries of only those competitors who are amateurs golfers and are bona fide public course players at a public MGA member club (a course/club that provides playing opportunities for the general public seven days a week). Wednesday’s qualifier was the second of six scheduled over the course of the next two weeks.

Field GC (July 5).
