Three Qualifiers Held Thursday across Bay State for Mass. Junior Championship

For Immediate Release: June 27, 2019

NORTON, Massachusetts –  On the second day of qualifying for the 2019 Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship, 25 competitors from Thursday’s three qualifiers held at Ould Newbury Golf Club, Amherst Golf Club and Bayberry Hills Golf Course earned entrance into the Championship Proper being contested at Bernardston’s Crumpin-Fox Club in mid-August. For the second straight year, this year’s Championship Proper will feature a mix of both stroke play and match play, as all competitors will play 36-holes of stroke play over the first two days of competition, with the top-16 competitors advancing to match play for the final two days of competition.

An additional five competitors who finished one spot below the final qualifying spot at each of the three qualifying sites earned alternate status and will be placed on a priority list per the Alternate Policy, which can be found on the Mass Golf Policies and Procedures Page.
