BOYLSTON, Massachusetts (August 25, 2026) – On Monday and Tuesday, a combined 75 teams gathered at The Haven Country Club representing Mass Golf Member Clubs across the state to celebrate the history and legacy of Dolly Sullivan in order to further encourage and support young female Ouimet Junior Scholars. Contested over three shotgun starts, these teams played in one 18-hole best ball format. After a solid start on Monday, the pathway was set for teams to look for lower scores on Tuesday.
For the first time in event history, a four-ball team from Bedrock Golf Club (Kristen Henderson, Rita Bedard, Christine Gagner, and Mary Gale) captured a win at the Dolly Sullivan tournament, recording a score of 3-under-par 69.

On Monday morning, the team from TPC Boston shot the low gross score of the day. Coming in at 2-under with a 1-stroke lead over the teams from Amherst Golf Club and The Bay Club at Mattapoisett. Kim Zenisky birdied the 3rd and 11th to contribute to the team’s low score, and Gina Murphy added one more on the 7th. Leanne Smith and Sarah Relihan went on to capture par saves where needed to put the team in position for a top finish.
During Tuesday’s round, the Bedrock team got out to a hot start, with four birdies on their first nine holes. The first was captured by Kristen Henderson, who also grabbed a circle on the card to close out their first half of the day, the second on the card was captured by both Rita Bedard and Christine Gagner on the par-5 12th, followed by another from Mary Gale on the par-3 17th. With some more challenging golf ahead of them on the front side of the course, a handful of pars carried them through.
On the 8th hole, the team’s final, no players from Bedrock were on the green in two, giving them a challenging look to secure the 3-under total score. After three failed attempts at par, Gale sealed the deal with a decisive downhill 5-footer to give her squad the edge.
The Dolly Sullivan Tournament brings together teams of women who show their dedication to giving back to the next generation of scholars.
Dolly Sullivan, the niece of American golf legend Francis Ouimet, was one of the winningest golfers in WGAM history. Her longtime commitment to Milton Academy and their golf program can only be thought of as inspiration for the beginning of a tournament in her name. Furthering the game of golf and educational opportunities for young women in Massachusetts has allowed this tournament to remain a staple in the Mass Golf schedule.
As a must-play tournament for teams from across the state, the annual event raises funding for the WGAM/Dolly Sullivan Junior Scholarship Program – an endowed scholarship that was first established in by the former Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts to assist female Ouimet scholars who have either worked as golf course employees or have competed in women’s golf events in Massachusetts. All Ouimet Scholarship candidates must have completed at least two years of service to golf at a Massachusetts golf course.
