In the third qualifier of the day, Brae Burn’s Sean Deale fired the lowest and only under par score of the day, with a 2-under 70. Deale advances to the Championship proper along with 14 other competitors who qualified on Wednesday. He came out firing with a birdie on the par-5 first hole and adding another on the fifth. Deale unfortunately made double bogey and bogey towards the end of the front nine, but quickly turned it around on the back side. From there, he recorded three birdies over the stretch of holes 12 to 15 and was smooth sailing heading into the scorers table. Recording a 1-over 37 on the front and a 3-under 33 on the back.

Deale joined Aengus McAllister (The Country Club) as the only two competitors to finish at par or under on Wednesday. Behind Deale’s 2-under 70 mark, Wednesday’s qualifying scores ranged from 1-over 73 to 5-over 77.
