NORTON, Massachusetts – Mass Golf is excited to announce that Stephen Hanjack has been named the association’s new Assistant Director of Strategic Communications. Hanjack, who most recently served as Director of Marketing and Promotions in the Athletic Department at the University of Connecticut, began his new role on Monday.
“We are thrilled to have Stephen join the team in this newly created role” said Jesse Menachem, Mass Golf’s Executive Director/CEO. “We were very fortunate to have received so much interest in the position, but Stephen’s passion for the game and his level of experience make him the perfect complement to the Mass Golf staff.”
Hanjack, a graduate of Western New England University, comes to Mass Golf from UConn Athletics where he was responsible for the overall development and implementation of the marketing and promotions plans for the highly successful Football, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Basketball programs at the University. He was also responsible for all of the UConn Huskies social media accounts, leading the formation of growth plans, campaign building, and assisting in content creation.
Prior to his work with UConn, Hanjack spent five years at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where he was the Director of Marketing and two years with the Springfield Falcons, an American Hockey League team.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Mass Golf team,” said Hanjack. “I want to thank Jesse Menachem and Catherine Carmignani for this opportunity and look forward to working alongside such a talented staff. I am eager to continue the growth of the Mass Golf brand, and the game itself, by promoting its competitive spirit and camaraderie.”
In this new role Hanjack will be working to effectively connect Mass Golf with its current and future members through various mediums. He will also be the primary voice for all social media accounts executing Mass Golf’s digital content strategy.
“Stephen is the perfect example of Mass Golf’s commitment to engage the next generation of golfers and golf enthusiasts,” said Carmignani. “The field of communications continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and we are at an advantage with onboarding someone who has a proven track record of success in the space.”
Hanjack will join a communications and marketing department that includes Catherine Carmignani, who has served as the association’s Director of Communications and Marketing for the past six months, and a Manager of Communications to be named later in the month.
