Ever wonder what the Member Day Program is all about? Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the program. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact Patrick Fannon.
After a successful pilot in 2018, there will once again be three divisions for players competing in Member Days.
Women’s Division: 4,800 – 5,200 yards (Net Competition)
Men’s Division: 5,000 – 5,400 yards (Net Competition)
Member Division: 5,800 – 6,200 yards (Open to both Men and Women; Gross and Net Competition)
Competitors will be able to choose which Division to play in AFTER they have been selected for the lottery.
Any person that carries an active Mass Golf/USGA GHIN handicap index at any Mass Golf Member Club is eligible to play in any Member Day. There are no handicap requirements.
There is no limit to the number of events you can enter your name for the lottery drawing. If there are multiple sites that appeal to you, you are free to enter and request up to 4 spots for each event.
Each player is only allowed to enter the lottery for each event one time. The number of events you enter and the number of events you are selected as a winner are completely random.
No, if you are selected as a Member Day lottery winner you are the only one who can register and complete payment for the event.
No, if you registered and paid for a Member Day and you can no longer attend the event, you are permitted to substitute another player for your spot and your group will remain entered and eligible for the event. Please contact Patrick Fannon regarding substitutions.
In the event that you and someone that you plan on playing with are selected as lottery winners, the first person to log-in and complete payment using your GHIN number will solidify your spot in the field.
If your name is not drawn as a lottery winner you will automatically be added to the waiting list in the order the lottery was drawn. If spots become available in the field at a later date, you will be notified via email ASAP.
If you do not log-in to your My Mass Golf portal to register and complete payment within 48 hours of being selected as a lottery winner, you will lose your spot(s) in the field and be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.
Approximately one week prior to the event, tee times, player information and host facility details will be emailed to you directly and be available on the event web site.
If you or your group cannot make to a Member Day that you had already registered for, there is a $10.00 per player withdrawal fee if you notify Patrick Fannon at least 7 calendar days in advance. If you notify Patrick in less than 7 calendar days but more than 48 hours prior to the event, there is a $40.00 per player withdrawal fee. No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the event.
In the case of rain, the event will proceed as planned unless the golf course is deemed unplayable by the Mass Golf staff and the host club. Should the need arise to reschedule the event due to adverse weather, players will be notified as far in advance as possible by email and information will also be available on the event web site. In the event of lightning, play will be postponed until conditions are safe to proceed and every effort will be made to complete the round. In the case of a frost delay, changes in starting times will be sent to players by email as soon as possible and updated information will also be available on the event web site.
