2019 Rules Official Training - MASSGOLF

Rules Official Training

New for 2019, Mass Golf will be asking that all current Rules Officials who would like to continue to serve as a “Rules Official” fulfill one (1) of the following continuing education opportunities.

These opportunities are meant to assist everyone in building on their current Rules of Golf knowledge with the changes that are now in effect. We encourage that everyone takes advantage of one (1) of these educational opportunities and want to remind everyone that our Mass Golf staff is always here to help along the way with any questions or concerns you may have.

  • Attend a 2019 PGA/USGA Rules of Golf workshop (click here for a schedule and more information)
  • Attend a 2019 Mass Golf & NEPGA administered Rules of Golf Seminar (click here for a schedule and registration link)
  • Attend a Rules of Golf workshop/seminar that will be administered by another Allied Golf Association (i.e. Florida State Golf Assoc., Georgia State Golf Assoc., New Hampshire Golf Assoc., etc.)
  • Take the official 100 or 80 question PGA/USGA Rules exam

For anyone who will be attending any of the non-Mass Golf administered workshops, seminars or exams , we ask that you submit a copy (via email) of your certificate of completion, confirmation receipt, etc. to our Mass Golf staff. Please email keldridge@massgolf.org or drosen@massgolf.org.

Lastly, for all current Tournament Volunteers and anyone not planning to attend one of the educational opportunities listed above, we still hope and encourage that you will continue to volunteer at our various Mass Golf events.

At any given championship, qualifier or tournament, we are always in need of both Rules Officials and Tournament Volunteers. And although the responsibilities of a Rules Official or Tournament Volunteer will vary, both roles are crucial in our goal of conducting the most professional, consistent and well-run events.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Kevin Eldridge directly at 774-430-9103 or keldridge@massgolf.org.
