2024 Championships

To ensure that competitors have the best experience possible when competing in a Mass Golf Championship event, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of the Policies and Procedures established by the association. See below for eligibility requirements (Age, Handicap Index®, etc.) and entry close dates for all Mass Golf Championships.

Mixed Four-Ball Championship for the Stone Cup

April 23 (Tuesday)
Granite Links Golf Club (Milton & Quincy)

Eligibility:

  • Any two-person mixed team (male & female) of amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® (per player) not exceeding 18.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

Registration for this event will NOT be first come, first served. The field will be selected “low-to-high”, based on the teams combined Handicap Index® as of the published entry close date.

Eligibility:

  • Any two-person team of amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Combined Handicap Index® not exceeding 6.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

Registration for this event will NOT be first come, first served. The field will be selected “low-to-high”, based on the teams combined Handicap Index® as of the published entry close date.

Senior Four-Ball

May 13 – 14 (Mon-Tue)
Country Club of New Bedford & Fall River Country Club

Eligibility:

  • Any two-person team of amateur golfers (ages 55+) who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Combined Handicap Index® not exceeding 12.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

Registration for this event will NOT be first come, first served. The field will be selected “low-to-high”, based on the teams combined Handicap Index® as of the published entry close date.

The field is guaranteed to comprise of at least thirty (30) Super Senior Division teams (ages 65+).

  • Any professional or amateur golfers.

  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 6.4 as determined by the May 30, 2024, Handicap Revision.

Eligibility:

  • Any amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership at a public golf course.
    • (a course/club that provides playing opportunities for the general public seven days a week) 
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 12.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

  • Any amateur golfers (age 25+) who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 4.0 (at the time of registration). [NEW IN 2024]
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

  • Handicap Index® not exceeding 12.0 as determined by the August 1, 2024, Handicap Revision.

  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

Tri-State Matches

October 15 – 16 (Tue-Wed)
Worcester Country Club (Worcester, MA)

The history of the Tri-State Matches dates back to 1907 when the team from Massachusetts was victorious at the Agawam Hunt Club in Providence, Rhode Island. The current format that features three teams competing over a two-day period was formalized in 1928. Teams from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut now come together each fall to compete for the regional title.
