While our team is usually covering competitive events across Massachusetts, we enjoy exploring the golf scene as well. We encourage you to take a dive into our findings at courses across the Commonwealth.
If we’ve learned anything about golf in the past few years, it’s that people are making more time for golf in their lives. Even if you don’t enjoy playing golf in a traditional sense, there are countless ways to introduce more people to the game and get them involved so they can enjoy it for a lifetime.
Something that stands out about golf is firsts. We remember our first round of golf, the first time making a birdie or a hole in one (if you’re lucky), or the first time playing a round of golf with a twist.
That last part is something is what we’ll explore in this series: Playing golf in unusual ways that our staff hasn’t personally tried before and documenting each experience. It’s sure to take us out of our confront zone, but perhaps you’ll find a new way to enjoy golf you may never have considered or thought was possible.

What is a Massachusetts Golf Staycation you ask? Quite honestly, it can be whatever you want it to be…as long as you are looking to play some golf. It can be 3 rounds of golf in one day, across 400 miles. It can be 7 different courses in 7 days. It can be playing the hidden 9-hole gems around the Cape all in one day. It can be playing a municipal course from sun-up to sundown for just $25. The possibilities are endless.
