Below is an update on the status of the Salute to Champions Dinner.
With great regret, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Salute to Champions Dinner, which was scheduled for Wednesday, January 17th at Wellesley Country Club. The final decision was made this afternoon as a result of the impending winter storm that is predicted to impact the Boston area from Tuesday through Wednesday.
We have learned that the storm has already forced delays and cancellation of travel to the area for many guests, and travel conditions are excepted to be challenging throughout the day tomorrow. With the safety of our guests and the host staff as our primary concern, we felt it best to cancel the event.
The event will not be rescheduled, and refunds will be processed within the next 24 to 48 hours for those who have purchased tickets. Once the refunds have been processed by our office, email confirmations will be sent out promptly, but any questions about the refund process can be directed to Shawn Bennett at email@example.com.
Again, we are truly sorry for not being able to bring everyone together to salute our champions and to formally recognize Henry St Cyr of Oak Hill Country Club as our Volunteer of the Year. However, we look forward to sharing some of those planned tributes with our golf community via our web site and social media platforms in the near future.
As a start, we ask you to take a moment to view this special message – sent to us by Mike Davis, CEO of the United States Golf Association (USGA) – which was to be delivered to our champions tomorrow night.

Congratulations to our champions, and special thanks to all for your understanding and patience over the past few weeks.
As a way of honoring its champions – as well as the Players of the Year – from the previous season, Mass Golf annually hosts the Salute to Champions Dinner in January.
This popular event was first debuted in 1997 at the suggestion of Donald B. Page, a former member of what was formerly known as the MGA Executive Committee. A longtime member of Wellesley Country Club, Page has been instrumental in the success of the event since its inception. The Salute to Champions Dinner is held at his home club – Wellesley Country Club – each January. The event brings together the Bay State golf community to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of its best and brightest.
Mike Dowling, former award-winning WCVB-TV sports reporter, has served as master of ceremonies in all but two years. Mass Golf continues to be indebted to him for his service and commitment to amateur golf in the Bay State.
Any questions about the event can be directed to Shawn Bennett at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone (774-430-9071).
