E.J. Altobello HONORED WITH “Youth Player Development Award” by Connecticut SECTION PGA

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – E.J. Altobello, Director of Golf at Tekoa Country Club in Westfield was chosen by the Connecticut Section PGA in recognition of his leadership in junior golf.

“This award is a reflection of the qualities and ideals we need from those who work with our nation’s youth.” says Tom Hantke, PGA Executive Director.

The selection was comprised of more than 360 PGA members and apprentices in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.

Altobello and the Tekoa Staff conduct multiple Junior Golf Events throughout the season. He has been responsible for conducting Junior Camps that have introduced more than 500 young people to the game. Tekoa has hosted a PGA Junior League Team since 2013. E.J. has also captained the Tekoa Team since 2013, but added a Boys and Girls Club Team in 2014. Altobello and Tekoa host three local high school golf teams as well as the Westfield State University. Altobello has served on the Player Development Committee of the Connecticut Section PGA and on the Fundraising Committee for Connecticut PGA Foundation.

Altobello has served at Tekoa Country Club since 1998.

Altobello and the other special awards recipients from the Connecticut Section will be honored at a special awards dinner on Saturday, August 18th at Chippanee Country Club in Bristol, CT. Cocktails at 5pm followed by dinner at 6pm. Tickets are $75 per person.
