GREAT BARRINGTON, Massachusetts (August 5, 2026) – Wednesday was decision day at Wyantenuck Country Club for the 108th edition of the Massachusetts Junior Amateur, powered by KOHR Golf, as the race to get inside the top 16 for match play ended with a four-for-two playoff.
Team Massachusetts (USNDP) teammates Zachary Georgantas (Foxborough Country Club) and Thomas Constantine (Franklin Country Club) who both finished 6-under over the last two days, with Georgantas earning the top seed, and the second going to the defending champion.
In the Pre-Junior Division, Riley Donovan (Student Member/MIAA) and Luke Russell (Brae Burn Country Club) sharedd low honors at 3-under, but Russell would have the low round of the day shooting an impressive 5-under.
In a less than ideal start for last week’s Ouimet Memorial winner, Georgantas found himself 2-over through his first 8 holes. After teeing off on the 11th hole, he made the turn onto the front nine, where he’s found much more success so far.
“I played good on the front yesterday, so I knew there were definitely birdies out there, there’s two par-fives,” Georgantas said. “I [also] birdied the blind par-3, made a nice putt, and then that kind of just started it.”
Georgantas’ round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 8th hole. “I kind of hit a cut driver, because you kind of have to, and I was on the 1st cut in the fairway. I think I had 205, but it was up at least 12. So had a perfect 4 iron. I was right at it, landed on the front, rolled out to like 12, 15 feet. There’s like foot left to right, and then, I just put a good stroke on it, [and it] went in.”
Constantine, also starting Wednesday’s round on the 11th hole, opened his round with a bogey on the par-3 opener, from there though, he would birdie the 15th, 18th, and 1st holes to sit at 2-under through his first nine and still finished tied for the lead despite a trio of bogeys.
“I just hit a few bad putts on those holes, but I was hitting the ball really well, and I knew if I stayed patient the next few holes, I’d have a good opportunity for birdie on the par-5 and drive the green on the par-4.”
He finished his round on a high note with a birdie on the par-5 8th.
As he looks towards match-play, he added this about his mindset. “Definitely attack a little bit more and try and put a little more pressure on your opponent, but also try and stay patient on shots and on the greens and putts will fall.”

As the action moved to a playoff, Benjamin Ragosa (Winchester Country Club) got in on the second playoff hole, making birdie the par-4 6th hole.
Three holes later, Jack Cheever (Dedham Country and Polo Club) earned the final spot with a birdie on the par-4 first hole after hitting his approach shot to about two feet.
