A total of 11 players emerged with spots in the championship proper after making it above the cutline at 9-over.

Wellesley native Emil Nielsen (Weston Golf Club) earned medalist honors with a 2-over 72. Nielsen finished even-par on the front nine with a 35 after making birdie on three consecutive holes, leading all qualifiers on the front nine. The qualification marks Nielsen’s first appearance in the championship.

One stroke behind were Nashawtuc Country Club’s Kyzar Joshi and Robbie Lifson with 3-over 73s. Joshi, a rising senior on the Ashland High School golf team, finished with three birdies and matched Julian Ragosa (Winchester Country Club), the fourth-place finisher, with a round-low 35 on the back nine. Lifson, who will begin his senior year at Tabor Academy in the fall, returns to the championship for the second straight year after he did not advance past stroke-play qualifying in 2021. Joshi will play in the Junior Amateur for the first time since 2020, when he played in the stroke play portion of the event.

Ragosa, of Winchester, was the youngest in the field to advance to the championship and the second-youngest player at the qualifier at 15 years, 14 days old. Ragosa finished with a 5-over 75 to earn his first Junior Amateur qualification.

Corbin Shih (KOHR Golf Center) tied Nielsen and Joshi for holes under par with three birdies.

Simon Murray, also from KOHR Golf Center, overcame a 43-stroke front nine, including two bogeys and two double bogeys on the first four holes to finish 9-over. Murray was the oldest in the field at 18 years, 8 months and 4 days.
