NORTON, Massachusetts – Online registration for all Championships and Women’s Championships will go live on Thursday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. At that time, golfers will be able to visit MassGolf.org and register online for the 20 Championships and 42 qualifiers that are featured on the 2019 schedule.

ONLINE: CHAMPIONSHIPS | WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIPS | USGA QUALIFYING

“We have a full schedule of events which will see us travel to all parts of the state this season,” said Kevin Eldridge, Mass Golf’s Director of Rules & Competitions. “The season will begin in May and run through October, and we look forward to featuring our state’s top golfers from start to finish.”

Eldridge said that it was important to note that registration for all Championship events are open to both male and female golfers. In fact, just last season, Shannon Johnson become the first female golfer to qualify for and advance to the Massachusetts Mid-Amateur Championship.

Complete eligibility requirements, schedules and entry close dates are posted for all events under the COMPETITION section. Qualifying spots for Championship events are secured on a first-come, first-serve basis, and late entries can not be accepted.

“Competitors should take a moment to review the information that is clearly outlined for every single event,” said Eldridge. “We encourage golfers to contact us with questions. Our goal is to make the registration process as smooth as possible.”

In addition to Championships and Women’s Championships, Mass Golf has also posted a full schedule of USGA Qualifying, Regional Events and Future Championship sites.

Prior to the launch of online registration going live, Mass Golf encourages golfers to take a moment to do the following:

MAKE SURE YOU ARE ACTIVE

Your Mass Golf/USGA Handicap Index must be up-to-date with your current club in order to register. You must have an active index in order to register online. If your index is not active, please contact your club or our staff and we are happy to assist.

CHECK YOUR SCHEDULE

Qualifying rounds have been scheduled on a range of dates and at sites located across the state. Check your schedule now so that you can secure your top qualifying spot and mark it on your schedule.

Female golfers should also take a moment to look under the PLAY section of MassGolf.org which includes information about Women’s Tournaments, Team Tournaments and Member Days. Registration for these events will go live in March.

REACH OUT TO YOUR PARTNER

The Championship schedule features two team-oriented events – Four-Ball and Senior Four-Ball – which require both partners to have active handicap indices. Give your partner a call so that you can register for those events which are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
