As the closest PGA TOUR stop to Massachusetts, a trip down to Connecticut for the Travelers Championship has become more and more popular for Mass Golf members. With the championship now just a week away, here are 5 Big Things to know about this year’s event.
#1 | Kids Go Free – Kids Admission Program allows children 15 and under to attend with complimentary grounds access. Children must attend the event with a ticketed adult to gain entry. More: Kid’s Program

#2 | Wednesday Celebrity Pro-Am – The Wednesday Pro-Am has long been an low-stress, family-friendly event to attend at the Travelers. On top of the stars of the PGA TOUR, fans get a chance to see legendary athletes and celebrities out on the course. Past participants include legendary Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie, former New England Patriots linebacker Andre Tippett, and former Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask. And who doesn’t love ESPN personality Chris Berman? The 2026 Pro-Am field will be announced in the coming days.
#3 | New PGA TOUR Schedule Announcement – During Travelers Championship week at TPC River Highlands, Brian Rolapp (CEO, PGA TOUR) is expected to announce future PGA TOUR schedule changes as part of a major press conference. Based on Rolapp’s past comments, many have speculated that the PGA TOUR is eyeing a return to Massachusetts.
#4 | Who to Watch: Like the Pro-Am, the full field will be announced soon, but among those committed, we’ll obviously have our eye on Mr. New England, Keegan Bradley, a 2-time winner of this event. But some others with past success in Massachusetts include Matt Fitzpatrick (U.S. Open, The Country Club), Justin Thomas (2017 Dell Technologies Championship, TPC Boston), and Rickie Fowler (2015 Deutsche Bank Championship, TPC Boston).
#5 | Where to Watch: It’s tough to pass on the drivable par-4 15th hole, but if you’ve never experienced the energy and excitement of the amphitheater on 18, it’s a must-do when in Connecticut.
