In 2003, the Massachusetts Golf Association was selected by The First Tee to join its national network with a goal of delivering impactful programs in all 50 United States.
Since that time, the Massachusetts Golf Association has introduced seven program locations – D.W. Field Golf Course (Brockton), William J. Devine GC at Franklin Park (Boston), Hyannis Golf Course (Cape Cod), Cranberry Valley Golf Course (Harwich), Fenway Golf Center (Springfield), KOHR Golf (Natick) and The Links at Mass Golf (Norton).
The First Tee started as a way to bring an affordable junior golf program to youth and communities that did not have them.
Our Massachusetts chapter is one of many in The First Tee network. The First Tee is reaching young people in all 50 states and select international locations on golf courses, in elementary schools and through other youth-serving organizations.
Annually, more than 30,000 children are impacted by The First Tee of Massachusetts.

In an effort to make our programs the most outstanding and affordable for our participants and their families, program fees are kept as low as possible. Currently all Life Skills Curriculum registration fees are free of charge to residents at each program location.
Community and local corporate support helps to offset the cost to operate our season-long education programs while also providing a financial scholarship for The First Tee participants, in need.
