2026 Labonte Four-Ball - MASSGOLF

Abigail Vernon & Natalie Galligan Prevail at Season Ending LaBonte Four-Ball

MASHPEE, Massachusetts (October 19, 2026) – The most miserable of malcontents would struggle to find fault with this golden autumn day, jutting into Nantucket Sound at The Club at New Seabury. The final event of the 2026 season, the LaBonte Four-Ball, was contested on the Dunes Course, where the gross division turned into a two team race down the stretch.

The sides of Abigail Vernon (The Country Club) & Natalie Galligan (Pocasset Golf Club) and Kristen Henderson (The Tour) & Kim Zenisky (TPC Boston) both posted better ball rounds of 1-under par 69, a full four shots clear of the next closest cluster of teams. A scorecard tiebreaker gave the edge to Vernon & Galligan, earning them their first victory in the long-running tournament.

Foluke Mimi Tolani and Estelle Bosch, both of Northern Spy Golf Club, cruised to a three-shot win in the net division. They combined for a net 61, 9-under par.

The 112-player field consisted of two-woman teams, more than twice the size of the field in 2025. The tournament utilizes a four-ball format, where players hit their own ball and the best score on the team is recorded. The event dates back to 1950 and, in 1972, was renamed the “The Eleanor I. LaBonte” Tournament. LaBonte served as Executive Secretary of what was formerly known as the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM) for over 25 years and was Handicap Chairperson for 33 years. The tournament is open to two-woman teams with both players having up to a 54.0 Handicap Index.

Beginning their round on the par-5 18th hole, Natalie Galligan and Abigail Vernon got off to a dream start when Galligan made an eagle 3 to jump out to a quick 2-under high water mark. Galligan and Vernon ham-and-egged effectively, notching a birdie each, and never suffering worse than a bogey on the same hole. Their round was keyed by an excellent stretch of golf from hole 2 through the 9th, which they played in 2-under par. Though they combined for three double bogeys in their final four holes, Galligan and Vernon found a way to pick each other up with pars on each of those holes to steer their exemplary round to the finish line.

Kim Zenisky and Kristen Henderson also came out hot. Starting on the par-5 3rd, Zenisky carded her first of three birdies on the round. Those birdies were complemented well by steady play from Henderson, who tallied 11 pars. The duo gave two strokes back with consecutive bogeys on 13 and 14, but proceeded to play their final six holes in 1-under par to post 69.

On the net side, Estelle Bosch and Foluke Mimi Tolani tallied ten net birdies to just one bogey. Four net birdies on their first five holes set the stage, and Tolani capped it off with a 4 net 3 on their final hole of the day.
