2024 Girls’ Junior Amateur Championship

Yarmouth | August 5 – 8 (Mon-Thur)

ENTRY FEE: $100 (Championship & Silver Divisions) & $60 (Junior-Mite Division)

CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON MAY 15TH

ENTRY CLOSE: Wednesday July 10, 2024, at 5:00pm

Eligibility

  • Any female amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • A Handicap Index® (at the time of registration) is required for the Championship & Silver Divisions.
  • Age 18 & Under (additional division age restrictions may apply – see below).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

Championship Division

  • Golfers ages 18 & under through August 8, 2024.
    • (NEW in 2024) – no age minimum
  • Handicap Index® of 10.1 or less (at the time of registration).
  • Format (NEW in 2024)Stroke to Match Play:
    • Round 1 – 18-holes, Monday, Aug. 5
    • Round 2 – 18-holes, Tuesday, Aug. 6
      • The low 16 scorers will advance to Match Play.
    • Round of 16 & Quarterfinals (18-holes each) – Wednesday, Aug. 7
    • Semifinals & Finals (18-holes each) – Thursday, Aug. 8

 

Silver Division

  • Golfers ages 14-18 through August 6, 2024.
  • Handicap Index® of 10.2 or greater (at the time of registration).
  • Format – 36 holes, individual stroke play:
    • Round 1 – 18-holes, Monday, Aug. 5
    • Round 2 – 18-holes, Tuesday, Aug. 6

 

Junior-Mite Division

  • Golfers ages 13 & under through August 6, 2024.
  • Format – 18 holes, individual stroke play:
    • Round 1 – 9-holes, Monday, Aug. 5
    • Round 2 – 9-holes, Tuesday, Aug. 6

 


U.S. girls’ Junior Amateur Exemption

Starting in 2024, this years Mass Golf Girls’ Junior Amateur Champion [championship division only] will receive an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur Championship (if eligible).


WAGR Counting event

The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), which comprises a women’s ranking and a men’s ranking for elite amateur players, is offered by the R&A and the USGA as a global service to golf. WAGR is updated every Wednesday on www.wagr.com and is available to national federations and organizers of amateur and professional events and tours for purposes of offering exemptions, selecting national teams and assembling Orders of Merit. WAGR currently incorporates over 4,000 events with over 10,000 players and endeavors to be the most comprehensive and accurate ranking in golf by effectively comparing players from around the world who may never directly compete against one another.

 


Ajga PERFORMANCE based entry status

Competitors will receive the following AJGA PBE Status based on final championship results from the Championship Division. For additional information on the AJGA’s Performance Based Entry System, please click here.

  • Champion – Fully Exempt
  • Match-Play Runner-Up – 12 Stars
  • Match-Play Semifinalist – 8 Stars
  • Match-Play Quarterfinalist – 4 Stars

 


Junior Golf Scoreboard

Junior Golf Scoreboard ranks more than 15,000 junior golfers and is considered to be the most comprehensive effort to track the talent of junior players. It’s tournament database lists more 3,300 events both in the United States and Canada and somewhat worldwide, enabling parents and players to find competitions they can play in.
