
Eligibility
- In order to be eligible to receive Girls’ Junior Player of the Year points, players must:
- Compete in at least one Mass Golf sponsored event included in the point system
- Have an active Mass Golf Membership
- Be 18 years of age or under
- Any points earned before a Mass Golf Membership becomes active and/or once a player turns 19 years of age will not be counted.
- Players who are 19 years of age will remain eligible for the award based on any points earned before turning 19.
Point System Details
- Any points earned by a junior competitor from the Anne Marie Tobin point systems will be added to their Junior Player of the Year standings.
- Points earned from Four-Ball events listed on the Anne Marie Tobin point system will only be counted for a players Girls’ Junior Player of the Year standings if both players are 18 years of age or under.
- Players may earn points at any in-state AJGA event and their one (1) best finish at any out-of-state AJGA events.
- Only AJGA events that are classified as “Open” events per the the AJGA schedule will be considered.
- AJGA events played after October 12th, 2026 will not be considered.
- Only results from the oldest/open girl’s division of U.S. Challenge Cup events will be considered.
- Any player who is exempt into a USGA Championship Proper (or into a final qualifying stage) will earn the points associated with qualifying for each respective USGA Championship Proper (or local qualifying stage) only if they compete in the championship proper or final qualifier.
- “compete” – means the player has completed at least 18 holes.
- Players who play in a USGA qualifier and earn points for qualifying, will be awarded those points even if they subsequently withdraw from the championship proper.
- The first alternate at a USGA qualifying event will receive 50% of the qualifier points for that event, the second alternate will receive 25%. No additional qualifier points will be awarded if an alternate is added to the championship proper.
- Points associated with the U.S. Four-Ball Championship will be applied to the season that the championship proper is held.
- Ties will be broken, by adding the points values of the tied players and dividing by the number of players tied.
- Any ties for the final point earning position will receive the listed points.
The final decision of the Girls’ Junior Player of the Year award will be approved by the Mass Golf Board of Directors.
The Mass Golf Championship Committee is responsible for the oversight and review of the Player of the Year point system(s).
