Worcester resident Terry Dunn tallied one birdie to two bogeys and a double at Monday’s Massachusetts Senior Amateur Championship qualifier at Holden Hills Country Club to earn the top-spot on the leaderboard and officially punch a ticket to the Championship Proper at Cohasset Golf Club.

Beginning on the 10th tee of Holden Hills Monday, the Cyprian Keyes golfer Dunn made par on each of his first seven holes of the round before a bogey on the par-3 18th hole, his ninth hole, led to him making the turn at 1-over.

In his second nine, the 58-year old rebounded from a double on the par-5 7th hole by making par on the next five subsequent holes, then carding a birdie on his final hole – the par-4 ninth – to finish at 3-over for the day. With the birdie on the final hole, Dunn was able to finish one stroke ahead of Bedrock Golf Club’s Edward Weber, who carded 13 pars to five bogeys.

Scores of those who qualified on Monday ranged from Dunn’s 3-over mark to 9-over 80.
