READING, Massachusetts – On the first day of qualifying for the 2019 Massachusetts Super Senior Amateur Championship, being contested October 2-3 at Woods Hole Golf Club, 11 competitors from Thursday’s qualifier, held at Meadow Brook Golf Club in Reading, earned entrance into the Championship Proper.
An additional competitor who finished one spot below the final qualifying spot earned alternate status and will be placed on a priority list per the Alternate Policy, which can be found on the Mass Golf Policies and Procedures Page.
Playing out of Old Sandwich GC, Vin Bucci took the top spot in Thursday’ Super Senior qualifier finishing at 1-over 73 in 18-holes. Bucci rebounded from a bogey on the second hole to begin his round, by birdying the par-5 sixth hole and making a fair amount of pars the rest of the round. The top finisher at the Meadow Brook qualifier today had 15 pars, two bogeys, and one birdie.
Bucci was among the 11 competitors who qualified Thursday and scores of those advancing ranged from 3-over 75 to 11-over 83. With 11 players now in the field, the Super Senior Amateur qualifiers are underway.
