As a result of her T3 finish on Sunday, Altomare was awarded $81,783 which boosted her career earnings to $1,051,850. It was also her first  top-10 finish of the season.

Altomare began the tournament with a 6-under par 65 which put her just two strokes off of the overall lead following day one. She followed that up with a 3-under par 68 on Saturday and then a 4-under par 67 on Sunday which boosted her to a six-way tie for third place. She made birdie on the 5th, 7th, 14th, 17th and 18th holes on Sunday.

After competing for the boys’ golf team at Shrewsbury High from 2004 through 2008, Altomare played collegiate golf at the University of Virginia where she recorded three victories, was named the 2013 ACC Player of the Year, and was a four-time All-American. Following her graduation, she began her professional golf career on the Symetra Tour.

Her first win on the Symetra Tour came at the 2016 Guardian Retirement Championship at Sara Bay, which helped to launch her LPGA campaign.

In 2017, Altomare competed in 26 events and recorded a career-best three top-10 finishes, including a career-best runner-up result at The Evian Championship where she lost to Anna Nordqvist on the first playoff hole.

Altomare is joined on the LPGA Tour by another Bay State native, Megan Khang, who most recently finished T10 at the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open Championship.
