Fast Facts: Junior Inter-City Team Matches

The 2025 Junior Inter-City Team Matches marked the first time Sunnybrook Golf Club hosted the competition.

  • Sunnybrook Golf Club, founded in 1914 by six former members of Philadelphia Cricket Club, was established as a small, private alternative with a Donald Ross-designed course that opened in 1915. Relocated in 1956 due to highway construction, the club now features a William Gordon-designed layout and a modern clubhouse.
  • Sunnybrook hosted the 1971 U.S. Senior Amateur won by Tom Draper, and the 1978 U.S. Women’s Amateur won by Nancy Lopez.
  • Team Mass Golf’s last victory in the team matches came in 1999 at Wianno Club on Cape Cod. Stacy Walejko, Lisa Morgan, Bridgette Palin, Christy Hallissy, and Stephanie Proto tallied 23.5 points in the winning effort. Its last road victory was the year prior at Huntingdon Valley CC.
  • Mass Golf will host the matches in 2026. The dates and site will be announced on a later date.
