PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pennsylvania (June 26, 2025) – Six of Massachusetts’ top female junior golfers brought their talents to the Quaker State this week, as Sunnybrook Golf Club was the host of the 84th Girls’ Junior Inter-City Matches for the Enos Cup.
The two-day event featured elite teams from Mass Golf, the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA) and the Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia (WGAP). For the fourth straight year, the WGAP emerged victorious in the Nassau (threesomes) format, capturing 26 points. The WMGA finished in second with 21.5, and Team Mass Golf totaled 6.5 points.
The first day of events featured a sweepstakes round where one player from each golf association plays in teams in a best-ball competition. Playing in the first group, Lauren Connor (Springfield Country Club) shot an individual score of 75, helping her squad win the Sweepstakes alongside Alaina Carson (WGAP) and Elie Poremba (WMGA).
Riley Eames (MIAA), a standout at Tabor Academy, also shot 75 but won the Closest To The Pin contest to take the individual prize.
In the team matches, players compete for three points in a Nassau match against one player from each state (threesomes). A player may earn a total of three points against each of her two opponents (one point for winning the front nine, one point for winning the back nine, and one point for winning the match).
Leading Team Mass Golf was its youngest player Charlotte Rollins (Youth On Course). The 14-year-old Boxford native captured 2.5 total points, including 1.5 in her match with Arya Parikh (WMGA). Sandwich’s Riley Eames (MIAA) split her match against Kiersten Bodge (WGAP) and added another half point in her other match.
Ashland’s Rebecca Kriegsman (Sterling National Country Club) also earned 1.5 points in her match with Sonia Kanwar (WMGA).
