Qualifying for the 42nd Massachusetts Mid-Amateur is wrapping up, and the field is almost set. 11 players at Sterling National Golf Club punched their tickets to the Championship Proper on Tuesday, at Andover Country Club from September 8-10. Wrapping up the final day of qualifying on Wednesday, Olde Scotland Links brought a stacked field of competitors to the stage, with all qualifiers under par.

Entries for the event are open to amateur golfers age 25+ as of Sept. 8, 2025, who have an active Mass Golf Membership and a Handicap Index® not exceeding 4.0.

The first to secure their spot to Andover was Jake Peer (Winchester Country Club), with a 3-under-par 68, largely contributed to by his 4-under-par front 9. Tied for second at 2-under-par was Alex Jeffers (Woodland Golf Club), Damon Lusk (Meadow Brook Golf Club), and Scott Dabney (Dedham Country and Polo Club). Grabbing solo fifth was Taylor Fontaine (Worcester Country Club), at a 1-under-par 70.

Tying for sixth place was Rob Linehan (Agawam Municipal Golf Course) and the home course competitor, Ryan Riley (Sterling National Golf Club) at an ever par 71. Grabbing eighth place was Patrick Meeks (Mass Golf GC) and Andrew Mierzwa (Mount Pleasant Golf Club) at 72, 1-over-par. JC Guthrie (Oak Hill Country Club), Jeremie Audran (Framingham Country Club), and Jim Gregg (Wedgewood Pines Country Club), with a 2-over-par 73.

With each advancing player under par on Wednesday, the Massachusetts Mid-Amateur qualifying at the Olde Scotland Links was an impressive performance. Taking home the co-leader positions were Cole Vacca (The Cape Club of Sharon) and Karan Tiwari (Wedgewood Pines Country Club), with Tiwari pushing himself into the early lead with an 18th-hole eagle. Mike Dunham (Concord Country Club), former NHL goalie, carded a 2-under-par 70 to tie for third place.

Joining him were Matthew Borghi (Whitinsville Golf Club), Brad Cadigan (South Shore Country Club), Parker Hodges (Mass Golf GC), and Kyle Buschmann (Granite Links Golf Club). Tying for fourth was Mass Golf staff member Jared Winiarz (The Links at Mass Golf), Kevin Shea (Braintree Municipal GC), Christopher Boyd (Pinehills Golf Club), Mario Wilson (Green Hill Muni Golf Course), and Zachary Miller (Butter Brook Country Club), all with a 1-under-par 71.
