Super Senior Amateur Qualifying: Westover Golf Course - MASSGOLF

13 Advance In Final Qualifier For Super Senior Amateur At Westover Golf Course

The field is just about set for the 10th playing of the Massachusetts Super Senior Amateur Championship after the conclusion of qualifying Thursday at Westover Golf Course.

Entries for the event are open to amateur golfers age 65+ as of Sept. 27, 2023, who have an active Mass Golf Membership and a Handicap Index® not exceeding 12.0. The Championship Proper begins September 27 at LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville.

Daniel Walker (Dennis Pines) led the way with an even-par score of 72, making three birdies to qualify for the Super Senior for the first time. His playing partner Joe Seckler (Wedgewood Pines Country Club) also made the cut with a score of 77, as did Ed Garbacik (Ludlow Country Club), who shot 74.

Mass Golf Volunteer Steve St Amand (The Meadow at Peabody) qualified for the third straight year as the three time Amateur Public Links champion (1989, 1990, 1993) made birdie on the 17th to shoot 77.

Dan Holden (The Tour) had a roller coaster finish to qualify on the number at 78. His lone par on the back nine came on hole 11 but with three birdie on the back stretch was able to shoot 39 on each side of the course to qualify for the first time.
