This annual team event was introduced in 1982 in honor of Dolly Sullivan, who was the niece of American golf legend Francis Ouimet. Sullivan served as golf coach at nearby Milton Academy for 32 years.

The event has not only become a must-play for teams from across the state, but it also raises important funds for the WGAM/Dolly Sullivan Junior Scholarship Program – an endowed scholarship that was first established in 1999 by the former Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts to assist female Ouimet scholars who have either worked as golf course employees or have competed in women’s golf events in Massachusetts.
