Below you will find a list of helpful FAQs for the Members Now! program. Please do not hesitate to contact Jenna Walkiewicz (jwalkiewicz@massgolf.org) or any member of our staff for assistance.
Since 2015, Mass Golf has offered golfers an easy and online way to connect with public, municipal and semi-private facilities. Members Now! was developed in response to the growing number of individuals who are looking to obtain a Mass Golf/USGA GHIN handicap and membership but just do not know how to do it. By being a Members Now! club, golfers from all over the state can join your GHIN roster and support your facility.
The Members Now! program makes our Member Clubs’ jobs easier by:
Once you confirm that your club will be a part of the Members Now! program, Jenna Walkiewicz from our staff will quickly set you up in our database as such and you will instantly be able to have members sign up online.
That is great! We are so glad that you are already a part of this growing program. There are a few changes that your club should plan for before January 2022.
It’s as easy as 1-2-3.
1) Click here to begin the process by clicking the red Join/Renew Now button (i.e you have never had a GHIN # before or you have an inactive GHIN #).
2) Use the map search bar to find a Mass Golf Member’s Now! Club by name, zip code or city.
3) Click on the blue “Join/Renew” button next to the club you would like to join/renew with to begin the check-out process and then immediately begin enjoying your golfer benefits.
No problem! The Members Now! program not only allows players to sign up for a brand-new GHIN, it also allows them to renew their current GHIN handicap. They will simply log into MassGolf.org (our system will already have their credentials) and renew their handicap for the upcoming season. Players can renew for the 2022 season on January 4, 2022.
Every time a golfer purchases a Mass Golf/GHIN Membership through your club, your designated contact will receive a confirmation email. If you need to change your club’s contact email, please contact Jenna Walkiewicz at jwalkiewicz@massgolf.org.
Between your inactive roster and “at risk” golfers who have not established a handicap or posted a score this season, retention isn’t easy to achieve. Members Now! will allow auto renew options to simplify the golfers renewing process. Our new technology will also allow for automated reminders to each member when their membership is going to expire. The marketing and reach that we have access to will be of the utmost benefit to your club’s growth and retention.
If you are a Members Now! Club your incentives are:
If you are brand new to Members Now! your incentives are:
Early Adopter Status is achieved when a club reaches their 2022 Rebate Goal and has 100% of their roster on Members Now!. Through Early Adopter Status, a club received additional value adds to ensure growth and retention. Those value adds include:
1.We will promote your club promotion or deal of choice monthly on a featured page of our website, MassGolf.org. This featured webpage will be promoted within the Mass Golf Weekender email blast which reaches 85,000+ golfers and has 5,500 link clicks.
2. We will help your club achieve its growth target by leveraging your tee time email list with plug and play content provided by Mass Golf. You must provide Mass Golf with your email analytics.
3. Our auto renew capability and promotions will increase retention and include periodic discounts funded by Mass Golf to bring in new golfers.
While being a public facing Members Now! club through MassGolf.org will help increase your revenue, we also offer individual/private signup links. Our staff would provide you with your club’s direct Members Now! link that you can send directly to your members to allow them to sign up or renew their GHIN handicap through your club. Upon request, we can also setup your club so as not to be publicly listed on the Members Now! dropdown menu as an option to purchase a Mass Golf/GHIN membership through.
For the program to be most effective and fulfill the benefits described above, we strongly encourage 100% of your golfers to signup/renew online through Mass Golf. However, we can make accommodations for clubs that require “members” or “inner clubs” or “season passes”. The club would in turn have to provide certain data points to Mass Golf for those golfers.
All Members Now! GHIN handicaps will be $55 per member. This standardized price will prevent players from price shopping when purchasing a handicap from our Member Clubs. We believe the value of a Mass Golf/GHIN membership is no different from club to club.
Each time a member purchases a GHIN handicap and is added to your club’s roster through the Members Now! program, you receive a $20 credit.
There are three separate GHIN billing dates each year: May 1st, August 1st, and October 1st.
If your May 1st bill has a credit balance, you will receive a check by June 1st.
If your August 1st bill has a credit balance, you will receive a check by September 1st.
If your October bill has a credit balance, you will receive a check by November 1st.
If receiving a check on in May for your entire GHIN roster ($20 per golfer) is something that could benefit your club, then committing to 100% of your roster being on Members Now! is the best option for you!
Your club will receive any incentive rebate checks earned at the end of the season in November.
While we understand change can take time, all golfers won’t be required to sign up through Members Now! until the 2023 season, however the incentives (rebates, additional revenue, and Early Adopter benefits) available only in 2022 will not be available to your club.
Once the 2023 season is here, all golfers, including those that have inner-club memberships at your club, must sign up online through Members Now!.
“I’ve worked in the golf business for 35 years across the country and Members Now! has got to be the best program for my courses. It eliminates the time and hassle of managing our GHIN rosters, allows us to get a check from Mass Golf every May, and reach golfers within our area that we normally wouldn’t be able to have a connection with.”
