Yarmouth, Massachusetts (August 7, 2025) —The Regan duo breezed past the competition to earn their first win in the Championship Division of the Father Daughter tournament on Thursday afternoon, at Bayberry Hills Golf Course. With 6 birdies in their first nine holes, the father and daughter duo set out on a mission, why not win a tournament, when you could set a tournament record? While the tournament has been in circulation since 1981, the lowest score, since 2010, has been a combined 5-under-par. Ryley and Michael Regan set an impressive score at 9-under-par 63.
In Modified Scotch format, both golfers hit a tee shot, select which drive to play, and then alternate shots until the hole is complete. The event featured two divisions: The Championship and Forward. In the Championship Division, daughters played from approximately 5,500 yards, while in the Forward Division, the daughters played from approximately 5,000 yards. Fathers played from 6,100 yards in both divisions.
Ryley & Michael Regan (Orchards Golf Club) took home the trophy in a landslide this afternoon, finishing the round off with an eagle to get to 9-under-par. The pair carded a 5-under-par front nine and 4-under-par back nine to bring home their first Father Daughter trophy.
Only their second time playing in this tournament, the Regan’s came in with a goal, and took advantage of the course.
“We struggled off the tee, not many fairways, put our putters were hot,” said Michael Regan. “We were hitting shots close and making putts, and that was really the biggest difference of the day.”
Ryley, with a notable win, heads into the Massachusetts Women’s Amateur Championship next week, with a good mindset.
“I was really happy with my ball striking and short game today, and that’s a positive going into the next event,” said Ryley.
Congratulations to the remaining top finishers in the Championship Division:
Tai & Ali Lee (Granite Links Golf Club) took home the trophy for the Forward Division with a 5-over-par score of 77. The duo played consistently, with a 3-over-par 39 on the front and a 2-over-par 38 on the back.
This season, Tai Lee has competed in the Four-Ball, and plans to qualify for the Senior Amateur and the New England Amateur Championship.
The pair have been competing in the Father Daughter tournament for five years now, but this is their first win.
“I play a lot of Mass Golf,” said Tai Lee, who competed in the Four Ball and the Senior Amateur and New England Amateur qualifiers this year. “But this is by far my favorite tournament, because I get to play with my daughter.”
Ali Lee’s Mass Golf experience, on the other hand, is only through the Father Daughter tournament.
“This is so special to win, we’ve been at this tournament for 5 years now, and it’s exciting, it’s been our goal this whole time,” Ali Lee said.
Congratulations to the remaining top finishers in the Forward Division:
